Why ZAC?
Some may wonder why we chose this name. For us, this catchy acronym testifies to the richness of the French language in a world where English generally dominates the sporting lexicon.
Indeed, ZAC stands for Zone d’Action Contrôlée. Or as we affectionately call it, la Cuisine, or even sometimes, la Kitchen!
Because at ZAC, pickleball is like a good recipe:

Pickleball
Pickleball is the perfect marriage of three racquet sports for guaranteed fun. It’s played on a surface the size of a badminton court, but with the net lowered to the height of a tennis court. The racket has a solid surface like ping-pong, but larger, and the plastic ball is perforated. The game is played in singles, doubles and mixed, and points are scored only by the serving team.
Although the sport has experienced unprecedented popularity in recent years, it has been part of the sporting landscape since 1965. Its growing popularity stems from the ease with which it can be learned, its social aspect and its user-friendliness for players of all ages and skill levels. It also offers a wide variety of playing styles, from powerful drives to dinking close to the net, making it attractive to a wide range of players. In short, pickleball has all the characteristics to offer participants a highly entertaining sporting activity.

Whether you’re looking for a friendly snack between two games, or to sip a drink while chatting strategy with your playing partners, our café-bar area invites you to enjoy a deliciously sporting break.
With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, our café-bar offers a selection of refreshing drinks, from lattes to alcoholic cocktails, as well as a variety of tasty snacks. Whether you simply want to enjoy a quiet moment or chat with fellow players, our café-bar area is designed to provide an environment conducive to conviviality and relaxation.
Games area
The competitive and friendly spirit that animates your pickleball games can also be transported to our games area for an extension of the fun. Challenge your partners or friends on our foosball table, our cornhole game, our ping pong table or the various board games on offer to keep the fun going with friends and family. Pickleball is a sport with a social dimension, and the games area puts this aspect to the fore, forging a great community of players.
Two proud founders!
Many of you know Sébastien Lareau for his tennis career. Olympic gold medallist in 2000 in Sydney in doubles with Daniel Nestor and winner of the prestigious US Open in doubles in 1999. After retiring from tennis, Sebastien successfully ran his insurance brokerage firm more than 11 years. With ZAC Pickleball, Sébastien returns to his first love, racquet sports!
Mélanie Brunelle is the orchestra conductor of ZAC Pickleball. Multidisciplinary, Mélanie has worked as a graphic designer, project manager and marketing specialist for various companies. Passionate about pickleball, she shares your passion for the sport and wants to provide a community environment where players can experience the game like never before.
